Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we will harness for God the energies of love—and then, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire! Teilhard de Chardin The message to love others is an authentic and transcendental revelation for the student of Esoteric Christianity. The coming of the Christ anchored the principle of love for the planet. This new principle was to affect the consciousness of all humanity. Thus we see universality woven into the Christian message. Esoteric Christianity seeks to both integrate and communicate this. The disciples kept the message alive, and the message was spread throughout the world over many generations as the word of Christ. However, we also see that few followers have been able to live the message. Christ's words seem to have lain like seeds under the soil waiting for humanity to mature sufficiently to undertake such a work. As we enter the Aquarian age, recall Master Jesus' message as he prepared to enter Jerusalem and told his people to follow the man carrying the jug on his shoulder to an upper room prepared for them (Mark 14:13,14). It is believed by many that this suggests the man carrying the jug is a metaphorical allusion to Aquarius, the water bearer and that only now can humanity be led to the higher consciousness for which it is ready. If we reflect that Christ's message of love has had to wait a long time for fruition, we begin to perceive that perhaps we received too great a vision for the humanity of the Piscean age. But perhaps the seed planted in the unconscious of humanity has matured and will now surface and bear the fruit for which we have so long hungered. |
